Rate Increases Expected

A rate increase is needed to help fund this essential investment. During their September 1 meeting, Lake Oswego City Council evaluated two rate options:

🔹 28% increase in 2027 followed by annual adjustments of about 3.9% — approximately $25–$30 more per month for an average customer.

🔹 8% annual increase for 10 years followed by annual adjustments of about 3.9% — approximately $8 more per month for an average customer. This option becomes more expensive after about five years.

Council is expected to decide which approach to take at their October 13 meeting. The revised sewer rate would go into effect on July 1, 2027 for Lake Oswego utility customers.
